Another Former NFL Backup QB to Start in AFL

Rohan Davey is the latest former NFL player to continue with the love of the game starting in the Arena League.

“I learned from guys like Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick that preparation is the key,” said Davey. “The more you prepare, the more you know about the other team and their tendencies. I’ll know more about the coverage and where I should put the football. It puts you in a better position to win the football game.”

The 6-2, 240-pound Davey has two Super Bowl rings from three seasons as the New England Patriots’ backup quarterback to Tom Brady from 2002-2004. From 2005-2006 Davey was on the roster of the Arizona Cardinals. This is Davey’s first season in the Arena Football League. He started the second half in the Dragons’ season-opening loss to Dallas on March 4 and was 12-22 with 131 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Mike Horacek.
