Saints get a TE

Last season the TE position made some plays...some...in New Orleans. Now they have a guy that can make a difference if he can stay healthy. I feel this is a big improvement for the Saints at a position that needed addressed.

Saints sign former Niners TE Johnson to one-year deal

CBS SportsLine.com wire reports
NEW ORLEANS -- The New Orleans Saints agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free-agent tight end Eric Johnson on Wednesday.
Johnson, with San Francisco 49ers the last six years, will compete for playing time with Mark Campbell and recently re-signed Billy Miller.
"Eric will be a good fit in our offense," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "He has played in a system in the past that has featured the tight end, he has good hands, and he knows how to find the openings in the coverage for the kind of catches that move the chains. He is the type of player we were looking for to plug in at tight end."
